Samples

These days I work mostly with JavaScript and PHP, but I’ve done quite a bit with Flash. If you have any questions about the pieces below, feel free to send an email.

Canvas

Ah, the canvas… I would call it a Flash Killer, but there are still a few kinks. You still need to worry about whether browsers support things, (I’m looking at you, Microsoft!) but it has enough cross-browser support to provide all sorts of action.

Solar System Animation

A swanky animation without images. It’s all drawn programmatically, so there are no resources to load. Good stuff!

Flash Interaction and Animation

Flash can be used for web interaction, but it can also be used for cartoons. Here are some samples of both.

Charleston Photos

This image gallery features some photos of my old home, Charleston SC. It uses an XML file for its data, so the images and captions can be changed without entering Flash. I’m currently working on an HTML5 canvas version of this gallery.

Haunted Icon Intro

An intro piece I worked on for a Haunted Icon promotional video.

Radio Cult: Make the First Move

Radio Cult is a rock band which tours down south. This is a cartoon music video for one of their original songs.

Websites

This site and my running blog are good examples of what I’ve done for myself with a bit of code. The sites below are examples of what I’ve done for clients.

Glutarian

Glutarian

Cara Cannon is a vegetarian chef with a mild gluten intolerance. This is her food blog, where she shares recipes and reviews restaurants from a Glutarian (gluten free vegetarian) perspective.

Confusion Jewelry

Confusion Jewelry

Michelle Black is a jeweler down in Charleston, SC. This site is a basic WordPress eCommerce site, built to tie into a pre-existing shopping cart.

1 Step Bail Bonds

Built for a bail bondsman in South Carolina. It’s a small WordPress site with a custom theme, allowing the client to maintain his own content.

Games

Flash is still a good source of casual games on the internet, even though the canvas is catching up. Here are some examples.

Radio Cult: The Loadout

The show is over, and Radio Cult is trying to get their gear back into the van. A casual game of avoidance.

Raiding the Fastlane

My first Flash game. This one is close to my heart, because it’s basically an adaptation of Defender. Man, I really loved Defender…
